A man killed two of his children in their sleep on Saturday evening. According to police officials, Mumtazabad Ram Kali resident Muhammad Farooq slaughtered his three-year-old daughter Saba and five-year-old son Waheed while the children were asleep. A group that planned to build a mosque near Mall Road in Florence has sold the property for a hefty profit.
The Mercy Foundation purchased the 5.5-acre lot on Cayton Road in 2008 for $200,000, the assessed value of the parcel. In a transaction dated Aug. 29, the group sold the property for $950,000 to New Plan Property Holding Company, a division of Centro Properties.

Another Muslim mosque and community center may soon be added to the city?s landscape.
The new mosque, planned for 407 Kossuth Ave., would be the third such worship center within a 4-mile radius in the city, which has one of the largest concentrations of Muslims in the country.

An Islamic reading room has opened in Gladstone’s Library in Hawarden, Flintshire, to help promote inter-faith understanding and co-operation.
The library was founded by Victorian Prime Minister William Gladstone.
