Qatari citizens can now enjoy hassle-free entry to the US following an agreement between the two countries to make the international traveller programme of the US known as Global Entry accessible to Qataris.
A joint work mechanism has been agreed upon by Qatar’s Ministry of Inteior and the US Department of Homeland Security to make the service available to Qataris, the Ministry said yesterday.
The Director of International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Interior Brig Saud Abdullah Al Mahmoud said that this programme will allow Qatari citizens to pass through the Global Entry gates at US airports without going through the usual procedures applied in these airports.
For registering in this programme the passenger must be a Qatari citizen and must hold a valid Qatari passport and a valid visa to the US. The fee for the service has been fixed at $100.
The Ministry of the Interior has called upon all Qatari citizens wishing to travel to the US to register and fill in the form.
The applicants will be sent an email to fix an appointment for collecting the required data at an office of International Traveler programme at the Doha International Airport.
