U.N. Arms Talks End Without Deal

U.N. negotiations to draft the first international treaty on the multi-billion-dollar arms trade have ended without a deal, with some diplomats blaming the United States for the deadlock.

More than 170 countries have spent the past month in New York negotiating a treaty, which needed to be adopted by consensus, so any one country effectively could have vetoed a deal. Instead, no decision was taken on a draft treaty.

Muslim Teen from Birmingham Jailed for Terror Hoax

A teenager Birmingham hacker who leaked Tony Blair’s private details was yesterday jailed for six months.

Junaid Hussain also made hoax calls to a counter-terrorist hotline, Southwark Crown heard.

The 18-year-old admitted making the nuisance calls and publishing the former prime minister’s address book in June last year.

Hussain made the hoax calls between January 1, 2010, and April 14, 2012, which prevented legitimate callers getting through to the anti-terrorism phone line.
