Rutherford County Building Codes Director David Jones said today he expects to conduct a final inspection of the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro Friday morning.
If everything is complete regarding environmental, electrical and fire codes, Jones said he could issue a temporary certificate of occupancy that day.
A federal judge issued a temporary restraining order two weeks ago ordering Rutherford County to resume the inspection process for the mosque that could allow it to open in time for Ramadan, its religious holiday.
At that time, Jones said the ICM was about two weeks away from completing work to allow a final inspection.
