At least six women were injured when a man hurled acid at his wife serving as nurse at Mayo Hospital on Friday. Police arrested the accused.
According to details, accused Irfan Younas hailing from Sheikhupura was in disputes with his wife Rehmana Liaquat, a nurse of Mayo Hospital, due to which she left the house two years ago and started living with her parents.
During two years Irfan time to time visited Rehmana and tried to take her back to home but she refused every time to go with him.
The enraged accused on early Friday barged into emergency ward No. 3 of Mayo Hospital and hurled acid at her wife injuring her and five others identified as nurse Shama Naz, Shazia Amanoel, Bashiran Bibi, Imrana and a patient Sabira Bibi.
The staff present in the Hospital caught the accused, thrashed him severely and then handed him over to police.
