A gang of Muslims burned down the Bacho Tambon Administration Organisation office on Thursday, after failing to find any Buddhist employees to kill.

Seven armed men stormed into the offices of the Bacho TAO in Bacho district shortly after noon.

Teachers living in fear of their lives have closed all public schools in Pattani, demanding the government and security forces do more to protect them from the continual, lethal attacks by southern militants.

The Confederation of Teachers in the Southern Border Provinces agreed at a meeting close all 332 public schools in the province until they get better protection.
